Data Disc Recovery is very good and efficient recovery program containing standard recovering procedures and several additional elements.
Currently program is accessible as freeware during license agreement time. DDR in version equal to any other recovery software will be accessible for free. But Data Analysis Group reserves the right to give access to more advance version of program on commercial terms.
Freeware version has only one limit - time, access time for any tests needed. After that time using of program without DAG authorization is illegal. There is possibility to buy license from DAG for legal using of DDR with it's full capabilities.
Before ending of free license, there should be newer versions of software accessible through Internet, and they can be used for free during testing time. Also when using DDR you can always download newer, free version of software, which will be better than one before.
This how currently looks accessing DDR.
DDR has many advantages, but it's most is program working speed. Scanning takes 2 to 10 times faster than using other programs, and result is at least the same and even better. Why wait 30 minutes, when in 5 you can have the same? For bigger partitions scanning economy is even greater.
Why DDR is so fast? Well it has very interesting memory manager and internal organization, and 'good hunch' because it knows where to look and search where it need to be. Besides scanning algorithm is very effective and absorbs every information from hard drive only once, also application gather only needed informations and that has big influence in program working efficiency.
Another DDR advantage is, that program pretend to be the first multitasking recovery application. For example, if the hard drive has to be scanned for 30 minutes in the same time you could do something else like listing and recovering found files and be informed about any found data before program finishes and allows to click. 'Yes' button, DDR is going to be friendly, multitasking, application giving results of scanning in real time. We are one step to reach that condition, but the problem isn't DDR algorithm, but GUI wxWidgets libraries, because they are not good enough, or we know to little about their usage. It should be cleared in near future.
Besides standard data recovering, DDR can also:
- recover data lost by 'shift - delete' on FAT partitions
- recover any data fragments from drive
- search drive through many criterion
- searching data directly on HDD, for example scanning free clusters in search for our file

First group are law and license terms.
Violating of license agreement is equal unlawful using of program and will be executed with restrictions provided by Polish law.
Free copies are accessible during testing time, after which license is loosing validity. After this time program stops working. That mean, you have to buy license from DAG.
Any attempt on debugging, cracking, passing safeties are stealing and will be prosecuted.

There is only one rule. NEVER RECORD ON DAMAGED PARTITION OR ONE FROM WHICH WE ARE RECOVERING DATA. RECORDING ON THOSE PARTITIONS MAY LEAD TO OVERWRITE EXISTING DATA AND BY THIS TO THEIR TOTAL LOOSING.
